About Me!

I graduated from university at the end of 2007 with a degree in Digital Arts and Media in which I specialised in animation. During my time at university I got heavily into web design and from this it was a natural progression into coding in the various web languages. This led me onto PHP which arose from a need to modify some existing software to meet my personal needs. Since then I've dedicated 4years to progressing my skills in PHP and MySQL as well as its obvious partners like XHTML and CSS.

I have a keen interest in all things computer based and I also consider myself a advance computer user in various OS's including multiple types of unix/linux systems and windows operating systems. During my time at university I had the opportunity to experiment in areas such as video production to animation and creating detailed digital paintings in photoshop. I found this very exciting and it gave me invaluable skills that I constantly transfer between different things I work on daily.

Since the beginning of 2008 I have been working as Systems Programmer for a ISP company. My main responsibilities is to code in PHP/MySQL the new systems for our clients and company partners to use. I enjoy my job and it provides me with lots of challenges as well as enabling me to increase my knowledge in web development.

When I'm not in front of a computer my main aim is to get as far away from one as possible. This has many reasons including preserving my sanity not to mention my eyesight. I find the most effective way to relax is playing my guitar or socialising with my friends. I like to keep myself active and enjoy the outdoors and I'm always keen on going somewhere new and seeing new locations and trying new activities. When I'm feeling a little more lazy I'll end up flat out on the couch with my PS3 as gaming is a hobby of mine when I have time to indulge in it or as I like to refer to it "research so I can stay current with animation and graphic developments" I'm sure someone will buy that eventually.

My Skills

As I stated above I try new programs and applications all the time so here's a list of skills and applications I can do split handily into various experience levels.

Advanced
Intermediate
Novice

I've listed these as I feel my skills in these areas are now. A lot of things in the intermediate categories or below are things that I may be very proficient at but haven't done in a while therefore I felt it inaccurate to list it as a higher level of skill. If you wish to know more about a certain area than please contact me and I'll be happy to provide more information.
